Other Cards Say They Care. Ours Prove It.

Other Cards Say They Care. Ours Prove It.

What if a greeting card could do more? Not just say something, but actually change lives? This is what inspired Brilliantly Brave, the purpose-driven greeting card publisher from Moray, Scotland, founded by a mental health professional and a greeting card veteran.

Every Brilliantly Brave card performs two acts of care simultaneously. First, it carries your message of love, support, or celebration. Then something remarkable happens: 100% of profits fund vital mental wellbeing initiatives in the north of Scotland. Not some. Not most. All.

"Mental health support shouldn't be a luxury," explains co-founder Jean Pryde, "With UK public health budgets decreased by £770 million in real terms since 2014, we're facing a critical funding gap. Our model offers a sustainable solution - turning everyday purchases into meaningful community support."

The impact is real. In a region almost the size of Belgium, with Britain's lowest population density and highest suicide rates, each card creates what we call a "double duty of care". When you send one of our cards, you're not just brightening someone's day. You're funding coaching sessions. Training mental health first aiders. Launching support groups. Establishing community drop-ins. Every purchase creating a ripple effect of positive change across Scottish communities in need.

Since launching in early 2024 the industry has noticed. Six Henries nominations in the first year. A finalist spot alongside industry giants in 'Best Contemporary Trend'. Meeting Royalty. For a small Scottish company making its debut, this recognition validates what we already knew: purpose-driven design gets noticed.

Now we're growing. Through our partnership with This Is Iris, one of Britain's most respected licensing agencies, our designs are expanding beyond cards, with the same “purpose over personal profit” philosophy: Every product working twice as hard, once for the recipient, and then again for the community.

"We've designed with purpose from day one," explains co-founder Stuart Cox. "Each collection is crafted not just for cards, but for a future where every product can fund vital community support. Whether it's stationery, homeware, or beyond, we're hoping to create more opportunities to make a real difference."

"We're not just making mental health 'inspired' cards and pocketing the profits," Jean emphasises. "We're creating good-looking cards looking to do good. Every purchase works twice - once for the recipient, offering thoughtfully crafted support, and again for someone in the community who may never be met."

Your next greeting card purchase will do one of two things: It will either send a message, or it will send a message AND fund vital mental health support. The price is the same. The choice is yours.

Brilliantly Brave will be launching three new collections at Scotland's Trade Fair (January 2025, SEC Glasgow)
