Giftware Associaion member 'The Art File', a Nottingham based publisher of contemporary greeting cards, gift wrap, bags and stationery are absolutely delighted to announce that they have won the 2017 Queens Award for International Trade. The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the UK’s most prestigious business awards to celebrate and encourage business excellence in the UK. As winners, The Art File has demonstrated outstanding results in international trade, successfully exporting British made products to over 30 countries around the world.

With over 1700 entries from businesses from many different industries across the UK, an in-depth and meticulous vetting process was carried out by the Queen’s Awards Board, applications of which show excellence in the area are then passed onto a board of independent assessors, then the finalists are passed onto the Queen for approval. The winners are then invited down to Buckingham Palace for an awards ceremony hosted by the Windsors later in the year.

The application was spearheaded by The Art File’s father and son team, Ged and James Mace, here’s what they had to say about the win. ‘Naturally, we’re absolutely thrilled with the news, as a company we’ve always recognized the opportunity to export our award-winning products to as many overseas territories as possible. With all of our products being designed here in the UK, it’s also a fantastic feeling to be showcasing the exceptional quality and creative talents of British designers to the world.’

Furthermore, James added, ‘With the added challenges, due to recent events in the UK such as Brexit, this shows that British products are still attractive to export markets.’

So, what does this mean for The Art File going forward? The Nottingham based business now gets to proudly show the Queens Award emblem on its product, giving added kudos and weight to its brand, both domestically and overseas.

They will continue to produce unique and contemporary Greeting Cards, Stationery, and Gift wrapping products to design inspired retailers across the globe.
