Can you tell us a bit more about your brand? Who is your audience?
We match retailers and suppliers with their target audience in their ideal venues. By offering the ability to trade within strategic locations across the UK and Europe, we create opportunities for these companies to launch, grow and expand. Whether you are an established brand looking to test a new product, a home-grown business that’s experienced the potential of a pop-up before and is now looking to expand, or an online-only brand looking to trial face-to-face retail, we will meet you where you are and help you grow from there.

Our Rock Up and Pop Up service offers retailers of all shapes and sizes the opportunity to trial physical retail. It is an end-to-end retail solution designed to help businesses test markets, engage customers and drive sales in prime locations.
Retailers, creators and suppliers can select the elements of the service that they require (including kiosk rental, graphics design, merchandising, business planning and staffing) and with flexible retail periods, retailers have the ability to test new venues, trial a physical pop-up shop for the first time or sell a selected product range at a specific time of year.
How long have you been trading and what is the history of the company?
SpaceandPeople has been trading for nearly 25 years, working with a range of brands, retailers and promoters of all sizes to connect with their target audience.
Rock Up and Pop Up was launched in 2022 by SpaceandPeople following extensive research with new/online retailers to understand the barriers of trialling physical retail and developing their omnichannel strategy. Our research showed that many retailers found the cost of creating, building, and installing a centre-approved kiosk to be a major hurdle to mall retailing. Rock Up and Pop Up was developed as a result of these findings to provide an end-to-end retail solution for a range of retailers to access high visibility, prime retail locations.
Who can be a mall retailer and how do you support first time retailers?
Our pop-up retail service is tailored to our individual clients, which include start-up businesses, established brands and online retailers. We also offer inline retailers the opportunity to expand their customer base. We do this by using their on-mall presence to direct shoppers to their inline store, promote seasonal product lines and/or attract a different demographic than usual.

We offer end-to-end support for all retailers, from business planning and location selection to kiosk set-up, branding, operations, insurance, documentation, and staffing if needed.

Do you use social media to promote your business?
What news do you have to share with us so we can celebrate your achievements over the last 12 months and what are you looking to achieve in the near future?
We recently added screens onto our Rock Up and Pop Up kiosks so that retailers can enhance their presence on the mall and include special/seasonal offers, which are easy to update.
How have you adapted to any changes in the industry landscape over the years? How has your business evolved?
We have always worked closely with our retailers to make sure we have solutions to meet their needs. We were involved with Retail Merchandising Units (RMUs) when the concept was initially brought over from America and are constantly honing the service we provide to retailers to ensure they can maximise their sales and give the best service to their customers.
What are your views on sustainability and what steps are you taking to be more sustainable?
The kiosks we offer as part of the Rock Up and Pop Up service are reusable and can be adapted to the individual retailer’s requirements.
Additionally, our new warehouse will enable us to closely review our sustainability practices, ensuring we are offering the best service to all of our clients.
